The Fish Girl!

O.2008.8.30.z.10ppj.L4.162

There is something fishy going on in my life! There is this fish girl. This is not an insult. When I say 'fish,' I am not calling the girl a fish, at all. I am just trying to tell my story.

I may have ran into a fish (last Monday, as I started volunteering at this Vacation Bible School), figuratively speaking, I may have ran into a girl from high school, and I told her to give this all time!

Right now, as I am looking for a job, as I am at this fork in the road (in my life), as I am pondering the questions of my own destiny, I am flattered by this girl who likes me.

I write this down because I am amazed that a girl can like me!

However, I need to remember that I am likable, of course! I was telling my dad's girl friend about this, today! I mean, too many times, we forget about the qualities that God is harvesting inside of us! And I know that there are treasures growing out of me.

I know that girls do admire me, from time to time!

I am flattered by that and all. But you know what? I know that I have crushed the hearts of girls, before. And I am tired of doing that! I am praying that I do break anybody else!

And that is why I was talking to this girl, who only two years younger than me. I admire her and all. And she wants to become good friends with me and all. She told me to consider her as a candidate for the future. I was flattered and all, really! I think that is all sweet and all. And I confused to tell her "No way, I am not interested!" But at the same time, I cannot say what the future will hold.

I told her that we will see!

Keep your eyes open for what God has for you!

Do not think that you know for sure what you need!

Or do not think that you know who you need to marry, for sure!

We all need to be open-minded! We need to be focused at serving God, beyond anything else!

Often times, we glance over to our crush, and we may fall in love! We become focused with the qualities that we desire in the opposite sex! And that is natural and expected! And that desire helps us pursue the very things that we need in life. And we need each other. I mean, some people are meant to not marry anybody, so that they can serve God better. Hopefully, I am not one of those kind of people! But anyways, our desire, for the opposite sex, is our drive to destiny! But sometimes, we can get too focused in the opposite sex!

In other words, we get distracted!

We become so infatuated with what we need from the opposite sex!

And therefore, we forget to work on ourselves!

I mean, we need the opposite sex for what they got!

But in our pursuit, we give up on what we got!

And we got is what the opposite sex needs!

And so, what I am trying to say, is that we are to work on ourselves! We are to go after excellence, after L4OJ, Living 4 Only Jesus, after being all that we can be! And in doing so, we can become all that our spouse will need in us! I mean, we do not want to marry a slob. And therefore, we will probably not date no slobs or snots or sluts or anything bad. But at the same time, they will not want to date us if we are slobs, ourselves!

Go after L4OJ, and we will see!
